Environmental & sustainability efforts
Nisbet Plantation Beach Club is fortunate to be surrounded by amazing natural beauty. To
preserve the island of Nevis for future generations, Nisbet Plantation does its part with
recycling, using LED lights and candles, as well as water and energy conservation efforts.
We’re proud to be successfully benchmarked and certified against the Green Globe 21
criteria by Green Globe International. Some of our unique environmental efforts include:
- In 2010, the same time wind energy began on the island of Nevis, we added electric
scooters to our resort amenities. Exclusive to Nisbet Plantation, the electric scooters
provide a fun way to explore the island without polluting it.
- In celebration of each destination wedding, we plant a coconut palm in the couple’s
name along our majestic Avenue of the Palms.
- Executive Chef Tony and his team value the importance of local seafood and produce.
You’ll see island ingredients featured in all of our dining venues. Chef Tony also works
with the local community to promote culinary careers and the importance of agriculture.
- Each year, we organize a hands-on Earth Day beach cleanup event. Our staff and their
family pitch in to keep our beach pristine.
In 2007, we created an artificial reef offshore. The reef has become a habitat for sea life and
saved palm trees by preventing beach erosion.
