Dining at The Great House
Known for its historic 18th-century charm and classic décor,
the Great House is one of a kind. Nisbet Plantation's beautifully-restored Great House dates from 1778 and provides an enchanting backdrop for an intimate meal of some of Nevis' finest cuisine.

Appetizers may include beef carpaccio with star fruit, pumpkin croquette, and orange-vanilla syrup; and chicken tortellini with wild-mushroom cream, spinach, and truffle oil. For a main course, try grilled marlin with flambéed plantains, roasted veal with root-vegetable fricasse and garlic jus, and soy-marinated roasted pheasant with breadfruit gratin and spicy pineapple salsa. Grilled Nevisian lobster is also sure to please! Conclude an intimate dinner with an after-dinner drink in The Great House lounge. |
| Dine inside, where two-foot-thick stone walls, art, and antiques provide a sense of the historical importance of Nisbet Plantation. You may also opt to enjoy outdoor, alfresco seating on a screened veranda overlooking the estate and the ocean as the many colors of evening unfold. Afternoon tea, served in the English tradition, is enjoyed daily from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the terrace of The Great House. Gaze down the Avenue of Palms to the sea – civilized and extraordinary.
Children under 8 years can be served dinner at 6:00pm in the Great House, or special arrangements can be made. The Great House is the preferred venue for wedding parties and celebrations and is open to the public. Open for dinner only. Dress code: Smart Casual ~ Long pants and collared shirts for gentlemen.
Guests who choose to stay connected to the outside world will find cable television and wireless access available in the Great House lounge. The Great House has a relaxing cocktail lounge and family game room in addition to the formal dining room.
